wonderwomen 2 Wonder Women In The City

More details are coming out about David E. Kelley/NBC’s pilot of Wonder Women. The site Bleeding Cool got a hold of the pilot script and it appears the show will portray the Amazonian princess as a Manhattan superheroine who pines for Steve Trevor and sings along to the radio.

Also, there is a fight scene set to Beyonce’s “All The Single Ladies.” At least the bullet-deflecting bracelets made it though.

networks The 2010/11 Television Upfronts Preview
Upfronts aren’t till next week but the networks have already released most of the details for the upcoming season. Here is a preview of what to expect next week.

FOX

  • Running Wilde has been making the biggest waves at FOX. Arrested Development star Will Arnett plays a rich Beverly Hills jackass who falls for do-gooder Keri Russell.
  • Keep Hope Alive is Greg Garcia’s (My Name is Earl) new show about a single dad raising an kid while the one-night-stand mother’s on death row. I’m intrigued..
  • RideAlong is the new cop drama from The Shield creator Shawn Ryan. Expect it to be like The Shield.
  • Lone Star has a lot of people around Hollywood buzzing. Jimmy Wolk (being described as a young George Clooney) plays a Texas con man juggling two wives.

NBC

  • Love Bites is from Sex and The City’s Cindy Chupack. Chances are it involves single woman who collect shoes and sex stories.
  • The Event is a “24 Style” thriller chronicling.. an event.. from multiple points of view. That, and Blair Underwood plays the President.
  • Undercovers is J.J. Abrams new project that NBC just spend a butt load on. Abrams directed the pilot (first time since he directed the pilot of LOST) which is about a married couple who are re-activated as CIA agents after years of retirement. I’ll bite.
  • Garza Outlaw is Jimmy Smits new show about a Supreme Court justice who returns to private practice. I’m already at the edge of my seat…
  • Kindred is Kathy Bates’s return to television. It’s a David E. Kelley legal drama. What!
  • Outsourced adds to NBC’s already impressive line of comedys about an American running a call center in India. Hmm, I’m listning..

and now the rest….

teen wolf mtv MTV To Produce Teen Wolf Series
MTV sure is saving a butt-load of money these days, enough to produce a scripted series! (I know, I was like – whaaa?!)

The series will flawlessly merge High School drama with Werewolf’s under the guidance of Liz Gately (The Hills/Senior VP of series development)

“It has a fresh take and is very different from the original. It has more of an ‘American Werewolf in London’ feel to it. It’s a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the center who provide a great comedy element: They are two very relatable characters on the outer circles of popular cliques.”

the c word showtime Laura Linney Gives The C Word to Showtime
This just in: Showtime has ordered up a pilot for a new half-hour series about a woman coping with cancer to shoot this fall.  Laura Linney is a three-time Academy Award® nominee, three-time Emmy® winner, and SAG® and Golden Globe® Award winner. In a statement from the cable network, the premise of the series was unveiled:

Linney will star in and executive produce THE C WORD, which delves into the emotional ups and downs of a suburban wife and mother forced to face reality yet also find the light side in a dark situation.  A metaphor for the way we all should live, yet rarely do, this is a journey about how to seize the day.  The series is created and written by Darlene Hunt, who will serve as executive producer, along with Neal H. Moritz and Vivian Cannon. It will be produced by Original Film in association with Sony Pictures Television.

lie to me Lie to Me: Review
FOX
Premieres Wednesday 21 January @ 9/8c

The thought of a new procedural about a dude who solves cases by honing in on the micro expressions of suspects is, well, less-than-enticing. How many episodes of a show can we possibly watch where a wink or a twitch tells us whodunit? Well, there is a whole science behind FOX’s ‘Lie to Me,’ it’s not just a television concoction. If you wanna dweeb out and learn all about it, get Dr. Paul Erkman’s book on those tell-tale signs that last 1/25th of a second. In the show, Eric Roth plays Dr. Cal Lightman, who is one of those quirky folks most of us would never meet in real life. He also has one of those fancy-cat offices that only exist on TV shows. In the pilot, there are two cases on the table for his crew of three to cover. A combination of hard evidence and interviews help the staff sort out what went down with these and a myriad of other cases. I don’t know how many tidbits about lying there are to sprinkle throughout each episode, but if it can conquer that balancing act, ‘Lie to Me’ will become the coolest procedural since ‘The Closer.’ I can’t wait for the episode where the criminal is recovering from Botox.

1 165989628l Possible Gossip Girl Spinoff Set in 80s
The rumored “Gossip Girl” spinoff will be a prequel set in 1980s Los Angeles. The CW has announced that a pilot for a potential series, created by GG executive producers, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, will focus on Serena’s mom Lily Van Der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford), as a troubled teenager in L.A. According to an early plot description, we’ll see young Lily move out of her wealthy parents’ home in Montecito to live with her outcast sister in the Valley, where she’ll attend public school and experience the glitz of Hollywood and the excess of the Sunset Strip. Smart move: new town, new era, old music. The pilot (still uncast) will air on May 11 in place of a “Gossip Girl” episode.
