The Olympics are here. The U.S. women kick off against France on Wednesday in their first soccer match (noon, EDT, NBCSC). Meanwhile, Danny Boyle puts the finishing touches on Friday’s Opening Ceremonies with today’s dress rehearsal. While we wait for some final leaks before we post about the OC, let’s sift through the unofficial 86-track playlist for the opening ceremony that has been published.
The songset includes the Beatles, Stones, Clash, Clapton, Queen, Adele, Bowie, Coldplay, Chariots of Fire and James Bond.
The music performed at both the opening and closing ceremonies (Spice Girls will sing) will be released digitally right after each ceremony concludes. The two records, Isles of Wonder: Music for the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games and A Symphony of British Music: Music for the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games will be available on July 28 and August 12, respectively. The Isles of Wonder will also see a physical release on August 6.
