chuckseas2r1artpic3 Chuck: The Complete Second Season Blu ray Review
While season one of Chuck started as a bit of a one-trick-pony, the second season pushed the premise to the next level. Season 2 features a slew of guest appearances that fill in the holes of Chucks past. Jordana Brewster plays the ex-girlfriend from Stanford. Nerd-bate, Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap) takes the role of Chuck’s father/”Intersect” mastermind and Chevy Chase plays the industrialist mastermind behind it all. Also, funny man Tony Hale (Arrested Development) kicks off the season as the Buy More’s new manager. Also, in between getting caught in precarious situations while on missions, the  “will they or won’t they” romance between Chuck and Sarah escalates to a very unexpected new level.

While there may not be enough action in the Chuck series to reason spending the extra dough for the Blu-Ray, the exclusive special features more than make up for it. The gag reel (one of the most important special features) is close to 8 minutes long and includes all the sorts of highlarious high-jinks you imagined happening on the set. The special features also include some real cheese featurettes like “A Real-Life Captain Awesome Tip for Being Awesome” and “John Casey Presents: So you Want to Be a Deadly Spy?.” A little campy for my taste but who’s to say you won’t enjoy them.

Season 2 ended with a game changer so you better get caught up fast as Season 3 has already started Monday nights on NBC.

Leno: Don’t Blame Conan

January 19th, 2010 | Posted by JoyHog in News | Television - (0 Comments)

jay leno and conan obrien Leno: Dont Blame Conan
A serious Jay Leno told his side of the story on Monday night. The message: don’t blame Conan O’Brien, don’t blame me either, NBC created the late-night follies that have become the biggest story on TV. Leno told viewers that he’d been doubtful about launching a prime-time show but was prevented by NBC from going to another network instead. He told NBC he’d return to the “Tonight” slot only after O’Brien rejected the network’s plan to put both men on in late night. NBC continued negotiations on an exit deal with O’Brien that would clear the way for Leno to reclaim the 11:35 p.m. slot.

“Through all of this, Conan O’Brien has been a gentleman. He’s a good guy, I have no animosity toward him. This is all business. You know, folks, if you don’t get the ratings, they take you off the air.”

More Leno:
When NBC told him they wanted to end his new show, Leno told viewers he asked to be released from his contract. “No, you’re still a valuable asset to this company,” he said the network told him.
On NBC’s 2004 decision to replace Leno with O’Brien: “I said, `Well, I’ve been No. 1 for 12 years.’ They said, `We know that. We don’t think you can sustain it,’”
When NBC suggested a half-hour show, Leno told the network he wasn’t crazy about doing it but said OK. He asked if O’Brien would agree to be moved to midnight and was told yes — it was almost guaranteed.

Leno and O’Brien both fired off strong jokes at NBC on Monday night:

Jay: CBS is now developing a new sitcom about the troubles here at NBC. It’s called `Two Men and a Half-Assed Network.’”
Conan: “Last night at the Golden Globes, Julia Roberts said that NBC was in the toilet. NBC was upset and toilets were furious,” he said.

NBC Update: Conan, Jay and ‘FNL’

nbc peacock NBC Update: Conan, Jay and FNL
Conan
: Bill Simmons, the LA-based sports columnist and podcaster for ESPN (who worked for Jimmy Kimmel), tweeted that next week would be O’Brien’s final week hosting “The Tonight Show.” On his podcast Thursday, Simmons said he’s heard that’s what Conan’s staff is telling big-name guests it’s trying to book next week. Conan’s rep told TV Guide that Conan will keep hosting “until somebody tells him not to.”

Leno: Leno’s rep told TV Guide that Leno hasn’t yet made a deal to move to “The Tonight Show” at 11:35. Love to see Leno do the right thing and walk away too, totally screwing NBC. But don’t bet on it.

Conan vs. Leno: An overwhelming 83 percent of TVGuide.com voters say O’Brien deserves to keep “The Tonight Show.” O’Brien bragged about it Wednesday night on his show.

Post-Leno at 10: NBC set its schedule. Monday: “Law and Order,” Tuesday: highly-anticipated new drama “Parenthood,” Wednesday: “Law and Order: SVU,” Thursday: Jerry Seinfeld‘s new reality show “The Marriage Ref,” Friday: “Dateline.”

Friday Night Lights:” Season 4 debuts April 30 (8 p.m., Fridays). “Who Do You Think You Are?,” a genealogy reality series produced by Lis Kudrow, airs in the 8 p.m. time slot on March 5.

2010-2011 Pilots: Its new orders include Kindreds, from David E. Kelley, which centers around a group of misfits associates who form a law practice; Prime Suspect, which focuses on a female detective in a big city; Rockford Files, from Steve Carrell; The Event, a story about a large government conspiracy; Jerry Bruckheimer‘s Chase; and Love Bits. Previous orders were JJ Abrams drama Undercovers and the David Tennant project “Rex Is Not Your Lawyer.”
