 Mattel Introduces The Joker
Mattel revealed the beginning of their toy line for the upcoming film, The Dark Knight, earlier today. In a large showroom full of action figures, playsets, and boardgames – the press all hovered around the newest 6″ Batman villain incarcerated in plastic. Camera’s clicked and flashed away as the newest Joker figure got more attention than Lindsay Lohan.

The Heath Ledger inspired figure is revealed only a couple weeks after the actors funeral. His untimely death has brought the films marketing campaign to a standstill. “Heath was very proud of his work in the film, and his family is aware and supportive of Warner Bros. and its partner’s plans for the movie,” said a family spokesperson.

The figure was sculpted by Four Horsemen and will sell for $10.99. It will include a knife and Joker prop card.

cast Replacing Ledger Is Three Man Job
What to do about the late Heath Ledger’s last screen role in “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.” According to Ain’t It Cool News, director Terry Gilliam (who is known as a daring director) will use three alternating actors — Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law. Nice tribute. Ledger’s character has been described as a man in love with a young woman whose soul has been sold to the devil by her father, the traveling showman of the title, in exchange for eternal youth.
