“Glee” has been a big hit for Ryan Murphy but let’s not forget his bloody good old show. “Nip/Tuck” begins its sixth and final season tonight on FX, at 10, right after “Glee” at 9 on Fox.
Where the story left off: Dr. Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) learns his lab results were mixed up, and his cancer is in remission. Sean (Dylan Walsh) is involved with Dr. Teddy Rowe (Rose McGowan who replaced Katee Sackhoff, unable to continue in the role because of scheduling problems with “24.”)
What happens next: The recession hits the practice as the boys hire a new surgeon (Mario Lopez). Troy is ready to party again, buys a boat and divorces Liz.
The outlook: There are 19 episodes left (ten this fall, the last nine to be scheduled in 2010) to complete 100 in all. The audience has declined from the show’s heyday, but the true fanatics will keep watching to see what wackiness Murphy has in store for the stretch run.
