Batwoman (Kathy Kane) was outed as a lesbian in 2006, and now DC Comics, all for diversity, is raising her profile as she debuts this June in Detective Comics 854. Writer Greg Rucka said Batwoman, who first appeared in 1957 but was killed off in 1979, was quoted about the character in Newsweek.
