Comedy Central is changing its logo in 2011 to stay current in the age of social media.

Bob Salazar, senior vice president/creative director, brand creative for Comedy Central:

10 years, that was the last time we did anything this meaningful. If you think of social media, videogames, and the conventional competition, it has changed dramatically in the last 10 years. Even though the brand has never been as strong, we felt that refreshing it in our promotion and our branding, was something that we felt this moment in the network’s history would be the perfect time for.

michaels Showalter and Ian Black Making a Funny Show
Since VH1 just recently aired “I Love the New Millennium”, it looks like Michael Ian Black will need a new source of income. THR reports:

Michael,” from Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter (“The State”), is a half-hour project with segments addressing issues that the two men have with themselves, each other and the world at large. Pais plays Jim Biederman, the executive producer for the duo’s show within a show. The character takes the name from an actual exec producer on the Comedy Central project.

Looks like time slots for MAD TV are starting to dwindle..

southpark s11 final South Park: The Complete Eleventh Season UncensoredParamount Home Entertainment

In shops now

You would think a cartoon as controversial and offensive as ‘South Park’ would loose its steam come year eleven. But on the contrary, ‘South Park’ might be the best it’s ever been. In the last five years my limited appetite for adult-suitable cartoons has been polluted with pop-culture one-liners, flashbacks and talking babies. I forget that the original cartoon marvel is still alive and well. Even in its eleventh season ‘South Park’ still manages to hold the proverbial mirror in front of our faces and still make (most of) us laugh. Subject matter in these episodes ranges from “the accidental racist white guy” who is singled out and then discriminated against or the colonization and genocide of head lice in children’s hair. You may remember ‘South Park’ as all fart jokes and potty humor, but the writing is crafted so well that you even find cultural relevance in an episode devoted to a crapping competition with Bono. It seems like this show will be around for a couple more years but when it finally reaches it’s end, it will surely go down as one of the most celebrated shows in recent history.
