According to the New York Times, cable giant Comcast is just days away from finalizing a deal with microwave giant, General Electric for the controlling share of NBC Universal.
G.E., which currently owns 80 percent of the entertainment company, would retain the other 49 percent and would contribute about $12 billion in debt to the new entity, though it is expected eventually to sell its ownership interest over several years.
Pro: Comcast may have the power to make NBC relevant again.
Con: No more microwave GE jokes on 30 Rock. :(
