beyonce broken hearted girl video Beyonces Star Maker: Clint Eastwood

Beyonce, who covets an Oscar, now has a Clint to help her realize her acting dream. The musical star has been cast in a Warner Bros. remake  (No. 4) of “A Star is Born,” with Clint Eastwood set to direct. Couldn’t be a better scenario. Eastwood is not only an elite director but has a big interest in music and has scored some of his own films.

Beyonce has been attached to the project since last year, and there was a point where it looked like Russell Crowe might co-star with Nick Cassavetes directing. Same script (by Will Fetters) reportedly but no male star as yet.

Names have started flying around. Deadline’s list includes P Diddy, Jay Z, Eddie Murphy, Robert Downey Jr and Jon Hamm. Any other suggestions?

GQ clint Eastwood: We Have a Bunch of Teenage Twits

PHOTO CREDIT: Martin Schoeller / GQ

GQ‘s “Badass of the Year” Clint Eastwood is a straight shooter. The 79-year-old actor/director, whose latest film “Invictus” tells the true story of South African president and civil rights leader Nelson Mandela, candidly discussed his negative feelings toward modern America in the magazine.

“[The U.S. is] becoming more juvenile as a nation. The guys who won World War II and that whole generation have disappeared, and now we have a bunch of teenage twits. The world needs this kind of story nowadays. It’s just … everybody’s so screwed up. It seems like our country’s in kind of a morbid mood, because of the recession or whatever.”

invictus Invictus: Trailer
I would like to hire Morgan Freeman to narrate my unpublished memoirs.

From director Clint Eastwood, “Invictus” tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) joined forces with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team, Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon), to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa’s underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match.

In theaters: December 11, 2009

this movie probably has a tear jerking/bitter sweet ending..

warnerbrospicturesvig WB New Doc Celebrates 85 Years
“You Must Remember This: The Warner Bros. Story” will be broadcast nationally this September.  The new documentary, which is written and directed by TIME’s Richard Schickel and narrated by Clint Eastwood is produced in partnership with ‘American Masters and takes its audience through the years from Rin Tin Tin to Harry Potter.’  WB also has a full-colour book to go with it on the history of the famous studio, and they’ll be giving 50 of their films a first shot at DVD packaging throughout the year.  These include some Dirty Harry’s, Film Noir collections and the obligatory limited edition-ness.  “Hi, Warner Bros?  Yeah, can you just send us all of it?  That’d be great.  Thanks.”
