Jason Katims’ latest show Pure Genius fizzled on CBS (we liked it), but the man behind Friday Night Lights and Parenthood is back with a new project.
It’s titled Drama High, based on a book by Michael Sokolove, that centers on a high school drama teacher and family man whose passion for the program and his students galvanizes the entire working class town. NBC has ordered a drama pilot.
Katims is writing the script and will serve as an EP alongside Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller as well as Michelle Lee and Flody Suarez.
The book is based on real-life drama teacher Lou Volpe.
