Katims Developing ‘About A Boy’
September 29th, 2012 | Posted by in TelevisionWe love Jason Katims. The writer-producer has gained attention and awards recently for “Friday Night Lights” and “Parenthood,” but we also fondly remember his work on “Roswell,” “Boston Public,” “Relativity” and “My So-Called Life.”
Now Katims has a few new projects in the works, and we’re all ears.
1. “About A Boy,” a half-hour comedy for NBC, the Nick Hornsby book that was made into a 2002 movie starring Hugh Grant.
2. “Anonymous,” a CIA dramedy for Fox with “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” screenwriter Simon Kinberg. The premise: a young upstart agent who develops an unexpected father-son bond with his veteran handler.
Katims isn’t a sure thing. Last season, Katims developed the hospital drama “County” starring Jason Ritter and Michael B. Jordan, but it failed to land a pickup.
