It appears that Kelly Ripa has finally settled on a permanent partner on “Live.” Several media outlets are reporting that Michael Strahan, who won a Super Bowl ring with the New York Giants, will be named co-host when Ripa makes her big announcement on the show on Sept. 4.

Strahan, 40, who was one of 59 guest co-hosts to audition to replace Regis Philbin, is funny and personable, a natural on camera, and demonstrated great chemistry with Kelly. It reportedly came down to a final three — Seth Meyers, Josh Groban and Strahan. Meyers would have been a popular choice, but the “SNL” comedian said he didn’t want the job. Groban was a poor interviewer. Strahan should do just fine.
