Everyone’s talking about CBS’s “The Late Show” surprise promo that aired during Sunday’s Super Bowl telecast. David Letterman, Oprah… and Jay Leno sitting on a couch watching the game. It was Letterman’s idea and Oprah and Leno went along with it. Leno flew to New York in disguise for the shoot last Tuesday. Said “Late Show” executive producer Rob Burnett to EW.com: “The bottom line is, if you’re a comedian and you have the chance to do something funny in front of 100 million people, you should do it.” Letterman wanted Conan O’Brien in the promo too, but couldn’t work it out.
More Dave: Letterman will announce the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover model on Monday’s show, and interview her on Tuesday’s show.
