We’re not quite sure what makes this “unrated” compared to the original theatrical version, but we, like many of you, are big fans of this movie – a nice return to those R-rated buddy comedies of the ’80s. In addition to the film (just as funny the second or third time, btw) there’s an good gag reel and enjoyable commentary with tidbits like “Everybody’s sunglasses are a very distinctive character choice.” Obviously.
Plus, you can find out how they did that missing tooth and what scene they shot while during election night last year. Fun.

There have been Mel Brooks boxed sets in the past, but none like this. This tasty Blu-ray morsel has 9 films including “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” “Silent Move,” “Spaceballs” and “Robin Hood: Men in Tights.” There’s also a 12-page hardcover book about Brooks and his films called “It’s Good to Be King!” For our money, “Spaceballs” will be up first during the JH marathon.
CW Music Choices
Say what you will about the shows (we like ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ and think ‘Melrose Place‘ is hilarious), but you should have a look/listen at the song selections. During the respite we should have some time to research new music while we anxiously await new episodes.
