Sunday’s American Music Awards (8 p.m., ABC) is more about the performers than the awards, and there will be plenty of talent to see. Janet Jackson opens the show, and she will be followed by an all-star lineup that includes Rhianna, Eminem, Adam Lambert and Lady Gaga. Also: The Black Eyed Peas, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtery, Green Day, Whitney Houston, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
Artist of the Year is the big award with Kings of Leon, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Eminem and Michael Jackson the candidates. ABC is streaming the Red Carpet Show at 6 p.m. (EST)
