In case you missed it, right after Taylor Swift’s accepted her Moon-Man for Best Female Video at MTV’s Video Music Awards, Kanye hopped onstage, stole the mic, and told the crowd that Beyoncé’s video for “Single Ladies” deserved to win. Poor Taylor remained speechless all the way up until they cut to commercial.
Kanye was booed for the rest of the evening and twitter has been absolutely on fire with Kanye backlash. Don’t worry, Kanye was nice enough to blog an apology…
I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED! I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE’S IN THE BLEACHERS! …………………… I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!…………….. West was reportedly asked to leave the VMAs after his rant.
Beyonce, who later won for Best Video, saved the night for Swift when she invited the teenage country star back to the stage. It was a classy gesture and a heartwarming finish to a first-rate show.
