The biggest controversy in the NFL isn’t about Michael Vick or Brett Favre… it’s about the Dallas Cowboys’ magnificent monstrosity of a video board in their opulent new $1.15 billion stadium. The world’s largest high-definition TV screens hang above the field, 60 yards long (from one 20-yard line to the other 20-yard line)… and, even though they are 90 feet over the field (five feet above the league minimum), punters have been hitting it with high kicks. Well, the NFL ruled that the $40 million video board can stay where it is… at least for this year. If a ball hits it, the down will be replayed and the clock reset. Besides, punters are supposed to be aiming their kicks toward the sideline… not playing hit-the-big-TV-screen.
