How’s this for an eye-opening photo: Chloe Sevigny with stars on her face and red and white eyeliner. It’s the cover of A Magazine, a Belgian fashion publication that is guest edited by a different designer each season, and the first one created by an American — the Proenza Schouler team of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.

Hernandez explained the patriotic pose to the New York Times:

“When we were asked to do this, it happened to be during the election, when America was having, for lack of a better word, a revolutionary moment. It was so cool to be American.”

BTW, Sevigny is running through the alphabet. The actress is also on the May cover of C, the California lifestyle magazine.
