• TV insiders are saying the “Gossip Girl” spinoff may be dead. Monday’s episode about the wild teen years of Lily van der Woodsen (played by Brittany Snow) in 1980s Los Angeles may be the only one we see.
  • An entertaining “Amazing Race 14” reaches the finish line on Sunday with Tammy and Victor, Margie and Luke, and cheerleaders Jamie and Cara battling on the final leg. I’m rooting for the pom-poms.
  • The Miami Dolphins are renaming their home Landshark Stadium as part of a partnership with singer Jimmy Buffett. Buffett’s Margaritaville enterprise includes Landshark Lager, brewed by Anheuser-Busch. The 2010 Super Bowl will be played there.
  • Katie Holmes will star in Guillermo del Toro’s “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” based on a 1973 ABC TV movie.
  • Mars is bringing “chocolate relief to America,” giving away more than seven million full-size packages of M&Ms, Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, Dove and 3 Musketeers by the end of September.
