• “The Simpsons” has been renewed for seasons 21 and 22, which will make Fox’s ground-breaking animation series the longest running show in prime time history. “The Simpsons” is currently tied with the classic CBS western “Gunsmoke” with 20 seasons. “Law and Order” has 18, and continues to run strong.
  • Jake Gyllenhaal (Joe Boyd) and Jim Carrey (The Devil) are set to star in a new movie version of “Damn Yankees.” No one has been announced for Lola. The 1955 film starred Tab Hunter, Ray Walton and Gwen Verdon.
  • Former Gilmore Girl Alexis Bledel will play a new intern in “ER’s” two-hour finale on April 2. George Clooney and Julianna Margulies (reprising their roles as Doug and Carol), and Susan Sarandon (playing a patient’s grandmother), will turn up in the March 12 episode.
  • “Saturday Night Live” has announced two new shows this month. Dwayne Johnson hosts for the third time on March 7 with musical guest Ray Lamontagne, while Tracy Morgan and Kelly Clarkson set for March 14.
  • Taylor Swift is on the cover of Rolling Stone. Writer Vanessa Grigoriadis says “she really is that girl in the tiny bedroom at home writing songs about the things she hopes and dreams and feels.”
