Paul Harvey was the voice of America. The radio legend, who died at 90 on Feb. 28, captivated listeners with his distinct staccato delivery, folksy speech and plain talk for 60 years. Harvey’s broadcasts were heard on over 1,200 radio stations and 400 Armed Forces networks and his commentary appeared in 300 newspapers. Every show began with “Hello Americans. You know what the news is. In a minute, you’re going to hear the rest of the story.” Each broadcast ended with a human-interest story with a surprise ending, and his trademark extended pregnant pause: “Paul Harvey … … Good Day!”
