“Friday Night Lights” hit another emotional high note with its wonderful, heartfelt farewell to Smash Williams on Feb. 6. The NBC drama showed once again why it is the best show on television — keep telling your friends what they’re missing… and make them watch it online. The episode, written by David Hudgins, left viewers cheering and teary-eyed as the star running back went off to college. The final scenes — from the happy phone call and delirious family hug to the emotional sendoff with Coach Taylor to the last touchdown pass with the boys on the Dillon High field (“Where you at Baby? Where you at?”) — were perfect. Gaius Charles, who played Smash, blogged about the episode for EW.com.
