D.J. Caruso has “Eagle Eye” coming out next week — his second collaboration with Shia LaBeouf following “Disturbia” — but the director is also making noise with a recent interview with UGO about his eagerly-awaited big project, “Y: The Last Man.” Caruso, who wants LaBeouf to play Yorick Brown, is planning a trilogy of the popular 60-issue Vertigo graphic novel. The script for part one, penned by Carl Ellsworth, has been turned into Warner Brothers, and the first movie is expected out in 2010. Caruso also said he’s heard the rumors about Alicia Keys playing Brown’s government-protector agent 355, and believes she is someone to consider. Caruso said Ampersand the monkey will be played by a real monkey.
