Since the Olympics began, we’ve had China on the brain non-stop. And, perhaps we’ve gone a little kookoo on Amazon ordering up some cool books set there like “Spring Moon” and “Red Azalea.” There’s another title though – brand-spanking new – that has caught our eye. “The Great Wall: The Extraordinary Story of China’s Wonder of the World” by John Man (DaCapo Press) opens the Introduction with:

“If Hollywood ever makes The Great Wall: The Movie, it might open with this single, uncut, aerial tracking shot, in IMAX…”

And from Earth’s orbit, we dive towards the Great Wall, immediately visible from space. A nice touch! But seriously, if the tiny tidbits designed for the ADD crowd on NBC merely wet your palette for more, “The Great Wall” is a good place to start.
