Mandy and I had a fun little night out when we saw the press screening of “Stardust” earlier this year.  We were very much looking forward to seeing magic and witches and stars and Michelle Pfeiffer.  Add a pub visit before and after, and it’s totes our scene.  Now we had a great time, seeing in “Stardust” the kind of ‘80s fantasy enjoyment that has been scarce since “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen” or “Willow.”  Towards the end of the year, however, I saw that it had made quite a few Top 10 Lists.  Really?,  I thought to myself… So, I obviously needed to revisit.  While I may not see it as Top 10, Top 25 is not outside the realm of possibility.  You’ve got all the great adventure components: boy becomes a prince, boy gets girl, pirates, Ricky Gervais, the score, the special effects.  It’s TOTALLY fun, come to think of it!  Plus, now with the DVD, we can look at the features like the gag reel (that Claire Danes has a potty mouth – sheesh).  If you missed the chance to see it in the cinema, this one is a light-hearted romp in the vein of “The Princess Bride” that deserves a gander.
