Every year has a soundtrack. 2007 was filled with good music from so many different artists. Rolling Stone, music’s bible, offers “The 100 Best Songs of 2007,” an intriguing collection of tunes from several musical genres. You can argue with the rankings but you can’t beat the presentation. Solid, superbly written comments with ‘listen” or “watch” buttons for your enjoyment. “Roc Boys” by Jay-Z is RS’s No. 1 song — “the most triumphant sound anyone came up with all year.” No. 2: “A Few Words in Defense of our Country” by Randy Newman. No. 3: “Umbrella” by Rihanna, my personal favorite because I love to sing “ella, ella, ella.”
