In a surprising move, the NFL is putting Saturday’s big game between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants on three networks. The 8 p.m. telecast, in which the Pats will try to become the first NFL team to complete a 16-0 regular season, will be simulcast on the NFL Network, CBS and NBC. Originally the game was slated to air only on the NFL Network, but given that channel’s limited reach (roughly 44 million homes), the league decided to make the much-hyped game available to the entire country. CBS and NBC will simulcast the NFL Net’s feed, with Bryant Gumbel and Cris Collinsworth calling the game.
