Let’s hear it for NBC. The network, which knows when it has a good show (witness “Friday Night Lights” last year), has picked up rookie dramas “Chuck” and “Life” for a full season.

“‘Chuck’ and ‘Life’ stand out in a crowded TV landscape because they are smart, well-produced series with incredibly talented casts,” NBC co-chairman Ben Silverman said. “Both shows are hitting their stride creatively, have developed loyal audiences and offer unlimited potential to grow throughout the season.”

“Life,” which has to follow the mediocre “Bionic Woman” on Wednesday nights, will be showcased next week with a two-parter that begins on Monday (Dec. 3) at 10 p.m., following “Heroes,” and continues on Wednesday (Dec. 5).
