This morning, the Emmy nominees were announced with no huge surprises on the list. There are roughly a jabillion categories, so even craft service and greens departments may find their moment in the sun. I’m tickled to see these cherubs among the recognized TV folk:

Outstanding Commercial – Coca Cola – “Happiness Factory”
Outstanding Costumes – “Rome” (duh)
Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series – “Ugly Betty” – Pilot (yes and yes)
Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music – “The Tudors” (absolutely)

Hugh Laurie / “House”
Julia Louis-Dreyfuss / “The New Adventures of Old Christine”
America Ferrera / “Ugly Betty”
Sally Field / “Brothers & Sisters”
Minnie Driver / “The Riches”
T.R. Knight / “Grey’s Anatomy”
Masi Oka / “Heroes”
Jamie Pressley / “My Name is Earl”
Elizabeth Perkins / “Weeds”
Katherine Heigl / “Grey’s Anatomy”
Chandra Wilson / “Grey’s Anatomy”
Sandra Oh / “Grey’s Anatomy”
Kate Burton / “Grey’s Anatomy”
Man in wheelchair / “Grey’s Anatomy” (oh…wait)

“Ugly Betty”
“Grey’s Anatomy”
“Sopranos” (really?)

“Battlestar Galactica” (you better frackin’ believe it!)
“Extras” (feat. Daniel Radcliffe)

And, yes, a whole lot more. And, yes, I only listed the ones I love and adore, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
