Might I suggest an HBO on Demand refresher course before you start up with season two? Heads are literally rolling right from the get-go, and that’s not a bad thing, by any means. Lucious Vorenus must come to terms with his wife’s death and the rest of them have to clean the blood off the senate floor. New alliances are formed and the young Gaius Octavian has got some plans of his own. Since this will be the final season for the show (it’s not cheap, people) all the storylines are pretty fast and furious. And of course, everyone who wasn’t killed in the first season is back with some of the fiercest performances around. Series creator Bruno Heller has penned the first two episodes and gets it all off to a lively start. I have said it before and I’ll say it again: ‘Rome’ is one of the best shows on television. Bloody, saucy, delicious.

  1. Simon Dixon says:

Very sad to hear that Rome is ending this season. I think it IS the best show on television. Of course, whatever is the currently running HBO mainstay, Wire, Deadwood etc. seems to be the best show on television. Am glad they are staying in the same period and going with Octavian’s rise; plenty of vengeance to come – Pullo should get a good workout.
