I’m not sure if I’m allowed to use profanity in my review. Ben Hoffman and Craig Anstett, the Hollywood comedians behind “F%@# the Movies,” certainly aren’t concerned with censoring themselves. In much the same way I imagine fellow JoyHogger Patrick Sarni and I would review movies if we were bitter 30-something comedians living in roach motels in West Hollywood, Hoffman and Anstett attempt to become anti-Eberts. Their reviews are thoughtless, give no insight into the movie, and sometimes reveal that they saw no more than the trailer, but in the pilot episode of their new iFilm series, they prove themselves to be just funny enough to pull it off. They excitedly rip into “Infamous,” “The Marine,” “Man of the Year,” “The Grudge 2,” and each other with gleefully acidic barbs that kept me smiling, if not chuckling throughout. I can’t say I’m going to make it a point to keep up with the series, but I recommend that you check out the pilot. NOTE: It is not for grandparents, precocious parrots, or children raised in strict religious homes.
